Ed Gallagher graduated from the University of Dayton in 1984 with a B.S. degree in Finance.
In 1988, he earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification while working for a wealth management firm in downtown Pittsburgh. The Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification is one of the most recognized financial planning marks in the world. CFP® certification identifies to the public those individuals who have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence when dealing with clients. The certification differs from an educational designation or state license in that it is based upon requirements that have been determined by extensive job analyses of actual practitioners in the field, and therefore, continue to evolve with the profession. The CFP® certification prepares the financial services professional for a career-long commitment to meeting the ever-changing financial needs of clients.
Ed remained at that firm for 20 years serving in many roles, including Director of Client Services.
In 2002 he joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network after being a long-time Northwestern Mutual client.
Ed has been counseling families on financial matters for over 25 years. His mission is to meet people and educate them to make smart decisions regarding their wealth believing that money frees people to live great lives.
He is a member of the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association.
